
A short research on the thickness and the different sizes of countertops was carried out to kick off the project. The first ideations and the following prototypes showed quickly that pressure needs to be built between the countertop and the product to keep it in place.

After the basic shape and the clamping mechanism were defined, around 8 iterations followed. Functional tests and 3D printed models were used to ensure its optimal use and sizing. A test on printing directions was especially helpful to secure its stability.
